Straz Live! And National Opera Week

An afternoon full of beautiful music, good food at a great venue – that’s Straz Live! in the park, presented by Opera Tampa. It’s the culmination of National Opera Week Sunday afternoon in Curtis Hixon Park, downtown Tampa. The fun begins as early as 1 pm when the entrants in the Picnic in the Park Table Decorating Contest begin their work, with performances starting at 3 pm.

Farewell To Xeno

It was way too easy to get emotional on Thursday as the Clearwater Marine Aquarium successfully completed the rescue and rehabilitation of a loggerhead turtle they named Xeno. She was found about 15 miles offshore of Clearwater Beach in obvious distress. She was taken to Morton Plant Hospital for an x-ray after arriving at the CMA, and they discovered a lot of what they called shell-like material in her GI track which wouldn’t allow Xeno to swim as she normally would. An October Full Of Ann-Ventures

I love October! This weekend  join the Florida Orchestra for two free Pops in the Parks concerts.  Feel free to pack a picnic basket, get the lawn chairs and I’ll see you Saturday, October 15th in Vinoy Park. The concert begins at 7 pm but why not avoid the crowds and come down as early as 4 pm to enjoy the best from local food trucks and music ensembles.
