Here’s our latest sweet, furry friend that will be at Mutt Madness this weekend, and is ready for a new home. I’ll let the Suncoast Animal League’s Annette Dettloff and Georgie’s foster dad tell his story.
Georgie is a good looking and jovial 2-year-old. He’s a whole mish-mosh of breeds including Great Dane, Lab, maybe some Collie and who knows what else. His foster dad says he definitely has the cool, fun and mellow temperament of a Lab and Great Dane. His foster dad sent this message from Georgie…
“At first I didn’t know what to make of my new foster parents, but an hour later, I was showering them with affection. I’m great with other dogs, kids and other pets. The more the merrier! I’m pretty quiet and rarely bark, even at doorbells. I am happy hanging out by myself, sunning in my foster parents’ fenced in backyard and I love rolling around in the grass when you’re busy. I’d rather hang out, cuddle, or play with you, but if you have work, I’ll happily lay next to you or under your feet while you’re plugging away. After a while, I’ll send a few hints, mostly a well-placed paw on your leg, but my requests are not audible. I’m quite polite in that way. I definitely need a fenced in backyard as I LOVE to run, but didn’t acquire a love for the water from my lab bloodlines. If you throw my favorite toy in your pool plan on getting it out yourself. I’m still working on my leash skills, but my foster parents say I’m getting much better. “Stay” was pretty easy. I’m currently working on sitting without a treat, but plan on riding that one out for now. Did I say I like to play? I love being chased and I am FAST, agile, and jump with the best of ’em. I have been neutered and microchipped, and I’m up-to-date with my vaccines. I am a 50 lbs. bundle of happiness and affection. Wanna meet me?? I’ll be at the “11th Annual Mutt Madness” this Saturday on March 11th at Highlander Park in Dunedin, ready for my forever home! I would love to meet you!”
And we’re looking forward to meeting you Georgie! I’ll be under the oaks in Highlander Park in Dunedin Saturday with many other friends and supporters. Won’t you please come and meet the wonderful people from the Suncoast Animal League? You can talk about being becoming a volunteer or a foster parent! See you Saturday – Ann Kelly
