Arriving at the house to rescue the 24 Maltese & Shih Tzus

Our pets of the week from The Suncoast Animal League arrived in rough shape. Executive Director Rick Chaboudy has been keeping us to date on their situation and what they are doing to help these 24 – yes, I said 24 Maltese & Shih Tzus – that were rescued recently and some were in pretty rough shape when they arrived. So many volunteers have put in serious hours just trying to get them groomed and set for the vet and much needed medical attention. Please take a look at just how much work is involved and see if there is a way you can help with a donation or by becoming a volunteer.

We do want to thank everyone once again who came out to Mutt Madness. There were so many people in line at the adoption tent long before we were officially underway and 70 dogs now have their forever homes. But there were a few that were left at the end of the day and that always makes me a little sad. But we can change that with a visit to the Suncoast Animal League and adopting them! There are still many pets in need of homes so keep a daily eye on their Facebook and Twitter feeds. And as always – adopt, don’t shop!
