Yesterday was Give Day Tampa Bay and thanks to your generosity many Bay area charities will be able to continue their work. I had the pleasure of introducing you to one of mine live on Facebook so you could learn a little bit more about the work of the Suncoast Animal League. Every donation makes a difference, and Executive Director Rick Chaboudy was so proud of everyone who took the time to log on and make donations. SAL won one a $1,000 bonus prize, and out of almost 600 groups came in 4th in fund raising. Wonderful job, and you should hear from Rick himself at the end of a very long day. You did good!
Each donation can make a big difference for the many rescues that come through the SAL. So this would be the perfect time to introduce you to this week’s Pet of the Week. Meet Rocky! This funny face belongs to one of the sweetest puppies in town. The 5-month-old, 38 lb terrier/hound mix is a real charmer that everyone at our shelter loves. Rocky has a great puppy energy, but he also loves to snuggle. He’s great with other dogs and LOVES kids (we had him at “Bark In The Park” on Saturday and he loved every child he met). We don’t know how he is with cats yet, but he’s really kind so we’re sure he will like the felines. Rocky has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date with vaccines. He’s still working on his potty training, which is coming along nicely. Does sweet little Rocky sound like the pup for you? Please stop by our shelter to meet him! PLEASE NOTE: Rocky is on meds for seizures, which are well controlled. The average annual cost to successfully manage his seizures is $750 through Animal Health Care Clinic. Come by and say hello to this lovely boy at the Suncoast Animal League at 1030 Pennsylvania Ave. Palm Harbor, FL 34683 and call 727-786-1330 for more information. Email is Info@SuncoastAnimalLeague.org. They are open Wed. – Fri. 11-4 / Sat. 11-5.
