Hurricane Preparedness Week is here and you’re thinking, already? Oh yes. We’ve already had our first named storm – that was Arlene in late April. And despite being in the midst of one of the worst droughts we’ve had in Tampa Bay in a long time it’s time to make sure you’re ready for the season. Expectations are for a possibly calmer season than usual but as we always say, it only takes one. We’ll make sure you know what’s going on when the severe weather threatens along with the Stormtracker 10 team from WTSP Ten News.
So what are the most important things to do well in advance of a storm? Think about that now and be ready to go. We never want you to take a dangerous chance so know the evacuation route, and be especially aware of the dangerous storm surge for our coastal counties. If you need that list of emergency contacts we have the for you. Check with WTSP Ten News for more information – just take a look here and make sure to like us on Facebook and Twitter so you’re ready to go when necessary. Hurricane season officially begins June 1st.
